Sorry for the writing delay my faithful followers, but I promise this post will be worth the wait. This week’s wine entitled “Lab” proves that a dog really is man’s best friend in any shape or form! This Portuguese wine definitely has a little bit of a Latin flair. It’s sweet and sassy and it will leave you wanting more. The wine itself is mix of reds, which I have come to find out are the only red wines I really enjoy. Me liking red wine is just about as rare as seeing a pink zebra, so this is a pretty big deal folks. At any rate, the overall body of the wine is very full bodied like 1950’s model. You can taste dark fruits like currant, berries and juicy plums that give way to hint of spiciness; after all a lady always has a little bit of mystery about her. Be warned, one sip of this zesty wine may want to make you get up and salsa or sing la cucaracha; although drinking enough of any alcohol will have the same effect ;). I had a glass with a big ‘ol side o’ beef and it was absolutely bovine (or divine, however you want to put it)! If you are of the vegetarian persuasion don’t get your knickers in a twist, it would go very well with or in a nice robust sauce or just by itself. Try a bottle before it dances off the shelves!
