This is a very special wine. Why you ask; because it’s my birthday (insert confetti here)!!! That’s right just 24 years ago the Dexterous Diner was brought in to this world, and I’ve had all this time to perfect my special brand of eating gourmet on a garbage can budget. So shout out to my mom, without whom I would not be here, seriously I’d still be floating around space somewhere. She is also the procurer of this week’s wine (it was a birthday present!) which came from a local spot nestled in Nelsons Corner in Hillsborough Nj called NEC liquors. My birthday present was handpicked by their knowledgeable staff and is practically perfect in every way, as Mary Pop says. So if you are ever one of the small portion of Americans who find yourself in the middle of NJ, stop on in
Aside from being a great birthday present for a wine aficionada like myself, it shares the name of my most favorite place on earth. Called “the Beach House,” it tasted just as heavenly as it sounds. Reminiscent of a walk on the beach you can taste lemongrass and gooseberries which are pretty standard for a Sauv. It has a light and playful burst of citrus flavor that tantalizes your taste buds. After the citrus fades the after sip tastes like lemon, honeysuckle and tangerines; and the snozzberries taste like snozzberries! The light fresh flavors tastes like a summer breeze, kissing your mouth with a light refreshing flavor. Everything about this wine is beachy even its parings. It is definitely the kind of wine that you would drink with shellfish and seafood. I will definitely be bringing a bottle to the next clam bake I attend.
Keep your wallets full and your mouths happy!
